The fact of the matter is....
So, I am 12 days away from moving to Huntington, Indiana to attend HU on a full ride scholarship and I guess you could say that for the past few months I have been dreading getting closer to these days where I feel like goodbye is so close and I am pressured to pack all of my things because if not, it won't happen until the night before. I really have been such a chicken.
This past week Jesus has been dealing with this big chicken inside of me and basically reminding me that the fact of the matter is...
-I have NO reason to be afraid.
-It is OKAY to be kind of excited.
-Jesus is already there, He goes before me and sets it all up.
-There is a reason I am experiencing all this change.
I really am starting to be okay with it. Yes, when I am packing more and more and doing laundry 24/7 for the past two days (including making a bag full of the many clothes I have stolen from my best friend to give back to her) tears start to come to my eyes and I just want to stop, call Huntington University and say "you know, I am really thinking I will just stay..." but Jesus just reminds me, "I am already there".
I literally have nothing to fear, nothing to be worried about and nothing to be anxious about because HE IS ALREADY THERE.
Duh.
It's like when pain and fear creeps into your life it's the only thing you can see. When in reality, as Christians we are not called to see the pain and fear but we are called to see the big picture. What is God doing right now?
He is paving a way.
I had the chance to preach at our youth group on Sunday morning (SO FUN!) and Jesus gave me this illustration of a circle describing why we are here. Basically, it had three points: We are here for a purpose, for such a time as this, and to be loved and to love. So, as I go into this new chapter of my life I have to remember that God doesn't do anything without a purpose, that I am going to be in Huntington for such a time as this and that I am called to be loved by an awesome God and to love people. When I recognize those three things Jesus is going to fulfill His purpose so much more. (seriously, Jesus sometimes smacks you in the face but it is the greatest smack you could ever receive.)
THERE IS A REASON BEHIND ALL OF THIS.
It is Jesus.
My reason is Jesus.
My reason is Jesus.
Since He is my reason I am continually trying to tune my attitude to reflect Him. Joy.
Yeah, I am human and I am going to complain about all of this sometimes but I must remember to see the greater picture.
Serving Him. Loving His people. That's the greater picture that I am so glad to jump into.
